CE mark

Does the machinery directive stipulate that fasteners must carry the CE mark?

Fasteners, such as nuts and bolts, have no moving parts, and are therefore not subject to the EC directive governing CE marking.

However, if eye nuts or eye bolts form part of lifting equipment, then CE marking is necessary. Our product range includes eye nuts and eye bolts bearing the CE mark in accordance with DIN 580 and DIN 582 respectively. These products do not require the CE mark if they are not used for lifting (as towing eyes for example), or if only used once for lifting (such as eye bolts for moving machines).
