Compass Service Programme
Lower your TCO
FABORY's Compass programme guides you to a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by increasing efficiency in six areas of activity. Each activity can be tailor-made to fit your organisation and the implementation sequence is flexible. You may want to make use of the full package or, alternatively, start with the activity or activities that render the highest profit in your specific situation.
Compass programme components
The Compass programme is built up of the following components:
1. Determination of your future needs
2. Ordering process
3. Goods receipt process
4. Quality & Technology
5. On-site logistics
6. Invoice options
1. Determination of your future needs
Ideally, production plans are known well in advance and the Bill of Material (BOM) for the products manufactured is also available. In those cases, managing the C-parts supply-chain is easy. Often, however, neither the production plan nor the BOM matches reality.
FABORY’s ERP system SAP enables us to monitor your article consumption: data per article, per location, per production line, per product manufactured, etc. Based on this information, a reliable product requirement forecast can be given.
2. Ordering process
A lot of comfort and cost reduction can be gained by implementing the FABORY barcode system in your storage area or at the work location. As soon as a pre-set minimum level is reached, the barcode label will be scanned and the information automatically sent to the computer for processing.
If your production is Bill of Material based, we can anticipate the numbers of each article you need and deliver them to you in the correct order of assembly at the moment you need them. Our ERP system can create BOM orders, so you can order what you need for production by using a single article number. This simplifies both your ordering and production processes at the same time.
Additional e-business solutions are possible. For instance, when your and our ERP systems are linked, an automatic order can be created in our system when the order point in your system is reached. The communication can run via an EDI or XML link. Of course, orders can also be placed at order.fabory.com.
3. Goods receipt process
FABORY offers many services that can facilitate the goods receipt process in your organisation, saving you a considerable amount of time over and over again.
Personalised packaging
Our logistic flexibility enables us to observe any internal rules you may have for receiving goods. These might include rules about how the boxes should be stacked or about the partitions between different types of articles, or the maximum weights, box dimensions and quantities, etc.
Custom labels
Depending on your specific needs, we can equip your order with custom-made labels. Labelling is possible per customer order, per order item, per unit package, etc.
Kitting
When the assembly of a product requires a certain number of different articles, your employees will work more efficiently when they have a special kit containing all the articles they need for the assembly of one product. We can pack these articles in the correct order of assembly in, for instance, a plastic bag or a plastic box with partitions.
Dispatch advice
FABORY can send you a dispatch advice electronically, stating which goods have been shipped. This can be read into your ERP system so there will never be a discrepancy between the ordered and delivered goods.
4. Quality & Technology
You want to be sure that the products you deliver to your customers live up to their expectations. It is therefore fundamental that the quality of the parts and fasteners you use in your product is excellent and the advice you get from your supplier is reliable beyond a doubt. High quality and thorough know-how are what FABORY is known for, and we manage both with great care.
Technology
Our team of qualified technical experts is standing by to provide you with advice on the design and assembly of your fastenings. Standardisation projects and problem-solving simulations of your fastening applications can be executed in our Fastener Competence Centre.
Product quality management
Our supplier approval process, which includes sampling of products and audits of suppliers’ processes, focuses on selecting the suppliers with the right mindset on quality.
Products are inspected and thoroughly tested in our ISO/IEC 17025, A2LA-accredited laboratories.
Traceability and batch management
FABORY´s batch management system ensures that the products you receive are traceable throughout the entire supply chain, from the manufacturer to your doorstep and vice versa.
Quality Assurance system
FABORY´s Quality Assurance system has been certified in compliance with ISO 9001. Continuous improvement programmes focus on meeting and, whenever possible, exceeding your quality expectations.
5. On-site logistics
Some companies are horrified by the thought of admitting a fastener specialist into their production area. Others invite them in happily so they themselves can concentrate on their core-business of manufacturing and leave the rest to another specialist. FABORY can offer on-site logistic solutions in keeping with your specific do’s and don’ts. There is no one solution. For that reason, we will analyse the situation carefully before proposing steps for improvement of your particular logistical situation.
6. Invoice options
FABORY supports various invoicing methods. The standard setting provides you with one invoice per delivery. Our experience is that many customers prefer a different way of invoicing, such as legal electronic invoicing. The greatest advantage is that an invoice is automatically entered into your ERP system. You will no longer have to receive a paper invoice.
